Frequently Asked Questions
About the online POCP database
- Why do some outage results on the search screen have a light gray background?
- Every 5th result has a light gray background to aid counting and scanning the eye horizontally across the page. There is nothing special about the outage itself. A red background on the other hand indicates that the outage is listed as being a Potential EGR issue.
- What username and password is required to access the XML upload/download facility?
- A username and password is assigned to each Asset Owner on request. In order to test that your upload system is operating correctly, use the test target instead (http://pocp.redspider.co.nz/xml_test.php), no password is required for this.
- When I select "Excel export" for the view and run a search, it sits around for about a minute then fails
- In order to prevent overloading, no single operation on the website is allowed to run for longer than 60 seconds. If you have a particularly slow connection, and your search result contained a large number of outages, it may not be possible for you to download the entire excel file within the 60 second window. Either be more specific with your search or contact Richard Clark (richard@redspider.co.nz) and ask for the results to be sent to you.
- CSV and XML look too complicated, I only have one or two outages a year, isn't there an easier way?
- Yes, contact Richard Clark (richard@redspider.co.nz) and request that your Asset Owner be placed in "manual" mode. This will allow you to use simple web forms to upload and update your outages instead.
- None of these answer my question..
- There are several avenues for additional information. You should ensure that you have checked the entire User guide, and for general electricity industry questions, one of the off-site links may have the answer you need. If all else fails, feel free to contact Richard Clark (richard@redspider.co.nz, 021 478 219) (business hours only for phone) with any queries.
